Press Information We have worked with architects Manalo & White on our first phase of works which will create a complex that incorporates a double-height gallery space, a space for performances and events, our new offices, space for our books and editions, and a publicly accessible home for the Matt’s Gallery library and archive (due to open fully in 2023). Alongside documentary evidence of our exhibitions being made, the library and Outset Archive will hold films, books, invitations, letters and ephemera relating to artist-led practice from the 1960s to today. The archive gives significant insights into the working methodology of the gallery and the artists it has worked with over the last 40 years. The space is secured on low rent over a 25-year lease, providing us with much needed stability into the future. The fit out of the shell spaces will be completed in two phases and will cost £1.2m. The second phase will create a second gallery space and affordable artists studios.
